Super Coco (living coco, super soil)
Super Coco is an amended coco coir and perlite mix: a coco based super soil that you can run with bottled or dry nutrients like any coco, or water only like a living soil. It suits growers of any skill level.

What it is
A coco media we formulated to run under any top dress feed program or bottled coco nutrient. The base is 45% coco coir and 30% perlite. Into that go microbial charged bio-char, worm castings, bark fines, calcium from gypsum and BioPhos, and a set of dry amendments. Made in Seacliff, Otago.
Contains: coco coir, perlite (30%), worm castings, microbial charged bio-char, bark fines, Acadian kelp, gypsum, lucerne, karanja seed meal, flaxseed meal, amino acid, BioPhos, humic acid and fulvic acid, chelated trace elements, and the following microbes:
- Glomus mosseae, Claroideoglomus lamellosum, Funneliformis mosseae, Scutellospora calospora (mycorrhizal fungi)
- Trichoderma harzianum
- Lactobacillus plantarum, Lactobacillus casei, Lactobacillus fermentum, Lactobacillus delbrueckii
- Bacillus subtilis
- Saccharomyces cerevisiae
- Rhodopseudomonas palustris (photosynthetic bacteria)
What it does
- Coco holds water with plenty of air, and the 30% perlite keeps it draining.
- Worm castings, bio-char and the amendments give the coco a nutrient reserve and a biology that bare coco does not have. It is designed to hold a steadier EC in the media than bare coco.
- Run it either way: with nutrients while keeping the media EC steady, or as a living soil on water with top dresses.
How to use
- Water Super Coco like any other coco, with regular dry backs.
- Regular tap water is fine. There is no need to adjust pH or remove chlorine.
- Suitable for any bottled nutrient or dry feed top dress program.
- It can run as a water-only soil, but it does better with top dresses of Artisanal Shed Blend through veg and Opulent Bloom through flower.
- Start feeding at week 2 with Artisanal Shed Blend, or with Super Veg and Super Bloom through their respective cycles.
- 20 L pot size recommended.
- If you feed with salts, keep the EC in the media steady rather than flushing to heavy runoff every watering; the reserve in the mix is part of the feed.

Handling and storage
- Wear a mask to avoid inhaling particles and open the bag in a well ventilated area.
- Wear gloves and eye protection, and wash hands after use.
- Once opened, keep the bag sealed and dry.

We aim to dispatch within 2 to 4 business days. Bags go by tracked Courier Post (overnight target for main centres, 2 to 3 days rural). Cubes and tonnes go by Mainfreight or Move Logistics: 2 to 3 working days in the South Island, 3 to 7 days to the North Island. A rural delivery fee may apply.
Faulty, damaged or wrong items are repaired, replaced or refunded under the Consumer Guarantees Act, with return costs on us. Change of mind returns are accepted within 30 days of delivery for unopened products in original packaging (living products, bulk orders, testing, consulting and custom blends excluded).
