FAQ
Questions we get asked
How long does delivery take?
We aim to dispatch within 2 to 4 business days. Courier Post Express targets overnight for main centres and 2 to 3 business days for rural addresses; Courier Post Economy is 2 to 3 days for main centres and 3 to 5 days rural. Bulk shipments go by Mainfreight or Move Logistics: 2 to 3 working days within the South Island and 3 to 7 days to the North Island.
How much is shipping?
Shipping is calculated at checkout from the weight of your order and your address. A rural delivery fee may apply. For cubes and tonnes, email store@seaclifforganics.nz and we will quote freight before you pay.
Can I return a product?
Two different things. Under the Consumer Guarantees Act, if a product is faulty, damaged or not what you ordered we repair, replace or refund it, we cover return costs, and there is no fixed deadline: tell us as soon as you notice a problem (transit damage is easiest to claim with the courier within 7 days, but a later claim does not affect your rights). Separately, our own change of mind policy lets you return most products within 30 days of delivery if they are unopened, unused and in original packaging; living products, bulk cubes and tonnes, soil testing, consulting and custom blends are excluded from change of mind returns only. Full details: Returns and refunds.
Do you sell in bulk?
Yes. Many amendments, fertilisers and living soils are available in cubes and tonnes, and living soil recipes can be modified to your specification. We supply both individuals and businesses anywhere in New Zealand.
Where are you based?
Seacliff, on the Otago coast north of Dunedin, overlooking Blueskin Bay. Orders are dispatched from here.
Where can I find safety data sheets?
Safety data sheets for the Seacliff-made blends are listed on the Product SDS page. If the one you need is not there, email store@seaclifforganics.nz.
Do you ship outside New Zealand?
No. We deliver within New Zealand only, by tracked Courier Post for bags and by freight for cubes and tonnes.
Can Seacliff living soil be run water only?
Yes. Living Soil v2 is balanced to strict mineral targets so it can be run water only, then recycled and re-amended season after season. The water only feed chart is written for pots of 50 L and over; smaller pots do better on the basic chart with Super Veg and Super Bloom. Both charts are on the feed charts page.
Can you read my soil test and tell me what to add?
Yes. The soil prescription ($80) turns one Logan Labs or Hill Laboratories soil or media report into a written amendment plan for up to 10 crops within five working days. Eurofins reports are not accepted. If you want it talked through, book an hour of soil consulting with Dan ($250).
Which lab should I send my soil to?
We work from Hill Laboratories and Logan Labs reports. Where to test your soil explains which test to order for garden soil, living soil and coco, and the sampling instructions show how to take a sample the lab can use.
Do you offer consulting for medical cannabis growers?
Yes. Dan consults for licensed medical cannabis growers, indoor and outdoor, as well as market gardens and cut flower growers: living soil recipes and re-amendment, reading soil and media tests, nitrogen budgeting, environment by stage and feeding. Book on the consulting page or email dan@seaclifforganics.nz.
