Next Gen Root Formula

Next Gen Root Formula is a root inoculant powder: mycorrhizal fungi, Trichoderma harzianum, lactic acid bacteria, Bacillus subtilis, yeast and a photosynthetic bacterium, blended with humic and fulvic acid, kelp, aloe, amino acids and minerals. Dust it onto roots at planting, or water it in weekly.

What it is

A dry blend of root biology and the inputs that feed it in the first weeks after planting.

Biology: Glomus intraradices, Glomus mosseae, Claroideoglomus lamellosum, Funneliformis mosseae, Scutellospora calospora, Trichoderma harzianum, Lactobacillus plantarum, Lactobacillus casei, Lactobacillus fermentum, Lactobacillus delbrueckii, Bacillus subtilis, Saccharomyces cerevisiae, Rhodopseudomonas palustris (photosynthetic bacteria). Mycorrhizal fungi at a minimum of 450 propagules per gram.

Biostimulants and minerals: Ful Humix (humic acid and fulvic acid), Tri Kelp, Super Fine Aglime, Potassium Silicate, Micronised Whole Leaf Aloe Powder, Micronised Soft Rock Phosphate, Amino Acid Powder.

What it does

• The mycorrhizal fungi colonise the root and grow a network out into the soil, trading phosphorus, nitrogen and water for the plant's sugar.
• Trichoderma harzianum and Bacillus subtilis occupy the root surface ahead of pathogens.
• The lactic acid bacteria, yeast and photosynthetic bacteria add microbial diversity around the new root.
• Humic and fulvic acid, kelp, aloe and amino acids are biostimulants that growers use to support root growth after planting.
• Aglime, soft rock phosphate and potassium silicate add small amounts of calcium, phosphorus, potassium and silicon right where the first roots form.

How to use

• At planting: 3 teaspoons (about 15 mL) per 500 mL of soil, applied directly to the roots or to the soil where the first roots will develop.
• Root drench: 1/4 teaspoon (about 1.25 mL) per litre of water, once a week.
• Apply as early in the plant's life as you can: seed, cutting or transplant. It can also be used at any later stage, from vegetative growth to flowering, as a microbial and biostimulant drench.
• Coverage: 100 g inoculates 10 to 1,000 plants; 500 g inoculates 50 to 5,000 plants; 2 kg inoculates 200 to 20,000 plants; 10 kg inoculates 1,000 to 100,000 plants.
• Use the higher rate for the fastest inoculation. The lower rate still inoculates.

Handling and storage

• Wear a mask to avoid inhaling particles and open in a well ventilated area.
• Wear gloves and eye protection, and wash hands after use.
• Once opened, keep sealed and stored out of direct sunlight.
• Spores do not move through soil. Put the powder on the roots, not on top of the pot.
• Living product: keep it out of direct sunlight and away from heat.
