Smartgro Fabric Grow Bag 45 L

A 45 litre Smartgro fabric grow bag with two handles. A breathable fabric pot for living soil, sized for one plant through a full cycle.

At a glance

  • Type: fabric grow pot (Smartgro)
  • Volume: 45 litres
  • Size: 38 cm wide by 40 cm high
  • Fabric: 250 gsm black natural fibre blend
  • Handles: 2
  • Use for: one plant in living soil or potting mix, indoors or out

What it is

Smartgro bags are made from a 250 gsm black fabric in a natural fibre blend, with two carry handles. The 45 litre size is 38 cm across and 40 cm tall.

What it does

  • Breathes: air reaches the root zone through the fabric wall and excess water drains out.
  • Air prunes roots: the weave stops root tips at the wall, so the plant branches rather than circling and girdling.
  • Gives some insulation to the root ball against heat and cold compared with a thin plastic pot.

How to use

  • Fill with Superior Potting Mix or Living Soil v2, water in, then plant.
  • Fabric pots dry faster than plastic, especially at the sides. Keep the whole root zone evenly moist, check the edges for dry pockets, and use a moisture meter or Blumat cones rather than guessing.
