Fermented Nettle Extract is a liquid plant feed made by fermenting stinging nettle. Growers use it as a nitrogen rich soil drench and foliar spray for leafy growth on tomatoes, peppers, fruit trees, ornamentals and hemp before flowering.

What it is

Stinging nettle (Urtica dioica) is the classic garden plant feed: cut, covered with water and left to ferment, then strained. Ours is made the same way and bottled ready to dilute.

Nettle is used by gardeners as a nitrogen rich feed. We do not have an analysis for the extract, so no figures are stated.

What it does

• Supplies a small, fast dose of nitrogen and minerals in solution for leafy, vegetative growth.
• Adds the microbes and metabolites of the ferment to a drench.

How to use

• Soil drench: dilute 25 to 50 ml of extract per litre of dechlorinated water and apply once every 3 weeks.
• Foliar spray: dilute 10 to 25 ml of extract per litre of dechlorinated water and apply once every 3 weeks.
• Foliar sprays go on with the lights off or in the evening, both sides of the leaf, and before flowering.

Handling and storage

• Wear gloves and eye protection, and wash hands after use.
• Once opened, keep sealed in a cool dry place.
• This product will remain active for 6 months after production if stored correctly.
• The smell is strong. We avoid spraying it on leafy greens such as kale and lettuce, or directly onto fruit and vegetables that are about to be picked.
