What it is

Tri-Kelp blends three kelp species, Laminaria, Sargassum and Ascophyllum nodosum, freeze dried into a 100% water soluble powder. Because it dissolves fully it suits sprayers, drip lines and watering cans.

What it does

• Kelp is a biostimulant: its compounds act on the plant's own growth hormones and help it ride out stress. Most of the trials behind that used soluble extracts like this one.
• It is not a fertiliser at these rates. A 10 g dose brings about 1.5 g of potassium and under 0.1 g of nitrogen.
• Growers use it as a foliar through vegetative growth and before flowering, and as a dip for cuttings and seedlings.
