What it is
A liquid fulvic acid concentrate at 8% fulvic acid, bottled by Seacliff Organics. Fulvic acid is the smallest and most water soluble fraction of humic substances, the dark organic matter left when plant material breaks down.
What it does
- A chelator is a molecule that wraps around a metal ion, such as iron or zinc, and holds it in a soluble form, so the metal stays in solution instead of precipitating out of reach of the root.
- Growers use it as a carrier in drenches that contain trace elements, and alongside their normal feed.
- In trials, humic substances have increased lateral roots and root hairs. Results vary with the source, the dose and the size of the molecules.
How to use
- Add 15 ml to 9 L of water.
- Apply the solution at 1 L per square metre as a drench.
- Watch the plants when you first add fulvic acid or change products.
Watch out
- The maker of our fulvic acid powder (NTS) advises dropping the rates of other products by 10 to 30% when fulvic acid is added. If leaves burn, reduce the other products in the mix.
