Seacliff Organics Liquid Calcium (calcium acetate, WCA)
Seacliff Organics Liquid Calcium is a calcium acetate solution, a water soluble calcium you can measure by the millilitre into a foliar spray, a coco feed or a living soil drench. Korean Natural Farming growers know the same thing as WCA, water soluble calcium.

What it is
Calcium acetate is the calcium salt of acetic acid, the acid in vinegar. Unlike lime or gypsum it is fully water soluble, so the calcium is available the moment it is mixed and the dose can be set in parts per million. Each 4 mL per litre adds about 100 ppm elemental calcium and raises the EC of the solution accordingly.
What it does
- Calcium builds cell walls and root tips. It is immobile in the plant, so a shortage shows first as twisted new growth, tip burn and blossom end rot in fruit.
- A soluble calcium drench or foliar reaches the plant in hours, which makes it the fast fix. Fix the soil or media afterwards with lime or gypsum.
- In coco coir, which holds little calcium of its own, a measured calcium feed replaces what the media cannot supply.
How to use
- Foliar spray: 20 to 30 mL per litre, which gives 500 to 750 ppm Ca.
- Blossom end rot or tip burn, foliar: 25 to 35 mL per litre, 625 to 875 ppm Ca.
- Coco coir fertigation: 5 to 8 mL per litre, 125 to 200 ppm Ca.
- Living soil drench or irrigation: 5 to 10 mL per litre, 125 to 250 ppm Ca.
- Each 4 mL per litre adds about 100 ppm elemental calcium and raises the solution EC or TDS accordingly.
Watch out
- Do not tank mix with silicates or phosphates: soluble calcium reacts with them and drops out as a solid. Jar test before mixing with any other input.
- Every dose raises EC. Count it in your feed, especially in coco.
- Foliar sprays go on with the lights off or in the cool of the day, both sides of the leaf, with a surfactant.

Handling and storage
- Wear gloves and eye protection, and wash hands after use.
- Once opened, keep sealed and stored out of direct sunlight.
