Seacliff Organics Mealworm Frass is a premium organic soil amendment made from clean, dry insect castings—rich in chitin, beneficial microbes, and slow-release nutrition. Ideal for gardeners and growers seeking to strengthen plant immunity, supercharge soil life, and support sustainable, regenerative growing systems.
This frass is naturally derived from insect larvae fed on clean organic feedstocks. It's packed with bioavailable nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium (approx. NPK 3-2-4), along with micronutrients and beneficial microbial metabolites. The presence of chitin—a natural compound found in insect exoskeletons—stimulates a powerful immune response in plants, helping them fend off pests and disease before they take hold.
Whether you’re building soil from scratch, fine-tuning an existing mix, or topdressing throughout the season, insect frass is a potent and clean way to build resilience and vitality into your garden.
Boosts Plant Immunity: Chitin primes plant defences and reduces pest and pathogen pressure.
Feeds the Soil Food Web: Supports beneficial bacteria and fungi with a natural prebiotic effect.
Sustainable & Clean: No synthetic inputs, odour-free, insect-free, and low in heavy metals.
Versatile Application: Use in soil building, topdressing, compost teas, foliar sprays, or hydro systems.
Soil Building & Potting Mixes
Mix 5-10 tbsp of frass per 10 litres of soil (0.75–1.5% by volume) when preparing growing media.
Topdressing
Apply 3-6tbsp per plant or 0.5–1 litre per 10 m² every 2–3 weeks during active growth.
Water in well after application.
Compost Teas
Add 1-2tbsp per litre of water in your compost tea brewer. Brew for 12–24 hours, then apply as a root drench.
Foliar Spray
Steep 1tbsp per litre of water for 30 minutes, strain thoroughly, and spray over leaves during early morning or evening hours. Apply weekly for best results.
Hydroponics / Soilless Media
For coco, clay balls, or hydro blends, use as a topdress at 5tbsp per plant or brew into reservoir water at 1tbsp per litre (strain well to avoid clogging).
NPK: Approx. 3-2-4
Moisture Content: <10%
Appearance: Fine, brown granular powder
Odour: Neutral, earthy scent
pH: ~6.5–7.0
Storage: Store in a cool, dry location. Reseal after use to prevent moisture uptake.
Scientific research supports the use of insect frass as a powerful bio-stimulant. It enhances microbial activity, accelerates nutrient cycling, and improves soil carbon content. Unlike synthetic fertilisers, it feeds both the plant and the soil biology, fostering long-term health and resilience.
The chitin in frass doesn’t just feed microbes—it tricks your plants into activating their defence systems, producing thicker cell walls and more secondary metabolites. That means stronger plants, increased pest resistance, and often better flavour, fragrance, and yield.
